Nuclear Medicine Center opened in Novosibirsk

The first nuclear medicine center with a gamma knife in Novosibirsk was opened. The volume of investments in the project amounted to 1.2 billion rubles.

The area of ​​the PET center is 4,000 thousand square meters. The institution is designed to receive 8000 patients per year. In addition to the positron emission tomograph, a cyclotron, which is necessary for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, has been transferred to the doctors. The drugs are planned to be delivered throughout Siberia.

The implementation of the project expands the capabilities of medicine to provide care to cancer patients.

Gamma Knife is an innovative method of treating benign and malignant neoplasms, vascular malformations and cavities, as well as functional disorders of the brain. The Gamma Knife allows destruction of neoplasms of the brain, as well as head and neck tumors, without violating the integrity of the skin.
